Hi Max, Thanks very much for your replay. Unfortunately I don't have a red hat portal subscription, but I was chasing this version because I bought the JBoss ESB Beginners Guide and was wanting to follow all the specific versions of JBossAS, JBossESB and JBDS that were prescribed in the book. I of course was still able to get the AS and ESB downloads, but hit a blocker on the JBDS. I do have a 'universal' JBDS v5.0.0.jar installer, and was going to see if the setup of the v5 IDE environment would be very much similar to v4.1.0, to see if I can get by with v5. I am aware that ESB is now a superseded product, but I think the book is a great base to learn about middleware / SOA technology. I am also at the moment looking at the later JBossAS, ActiveMQ, Quartz products that are now the new breeds in this space. Anyway, thanks for your post ...much appreciated. Hi Max, I will give v5 a go, 'again', as I did try this a while ago, but there were some differences in setting up the IDE, such as configuring and integrating the AS an ESB environments, runtimes etc. The outcome wasn't quite ideal. However, I'll persevere and see if I can work something it. It's all part of the fun I guess. I will post my results on setting up and using v5 in case some other people out there stumble across this blocker. I have been able to get by without the IDE, but it would be much better to get the IDE running in order to progress through the book. It is a little disappointing to sell a book when the tools needed aren't available or obtainable. Hi Kev, Thanks for the referral to the JBossESB Forum. I will spend time over this coming weekend to complete the setup on JBDS v5. I'm confident, based on the 'great' replies received on my post, that I should be able get by without v4.1.0. Thanks again, and I am amazed on how responsive the JB community is! :-). This is my first ever post and I am amazed how prompt and helpful the replies have been. I hope I can contribute to these forums one day ...soon!
