M4 status -- test failures, build failures, and compilation errors

I've opened this JIRA (with 5 subtasks) to track problems getting M4 out
the door:

Additionally, the aggregate build (and downstream installer build) are
failing due to these build failures (Hudson problems, respinning now):

* examples
* cdi
* central

N&N for JBoss Tools 3.3 M4

Hi,
With codefreeze for M4 in effect its a good time to refresh the whats new and noteworthy docs for the M4 release.
IMPORTANT: If your component does *not* have any changes then please *reject* the issue!
*do not* just resolve it since I use the subtask list of green/red to know if the component needs to be listed in the final docs or not.
I've created https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-9954 as usual with each component owner
as subtask owner. If some category is missing please speak up and just add it as a subtask.
If you component does have changes then add content to trunk/documentation/whatsnew and
add your component to index.html.
p.s. there is ~20 this time but I know we got more so time to start tagging some more with new_and_noteworthy :)

Spammer bots on jboss.org

Hi,
Seems our blogs and forums are getting the attention from a few spammer bots out there.
I've reported those I found to #jbossorg which then deletes the user and there by also the comments.
Thus if you spot some just send a mail to help(a)jboss.org or those who got access to internal irc ping them on #jbossorg
and they will take care of it.

Branched for 3.3.0.M4

We are branched for M4.

I will be disabling the 3.3_trunk jobs shortly in order to free up some
slaves to get the 3.3_stable jobs running.
With the freeze in the branch, please commit only urgent stop-ship
issues which are associated w/ a JIRA and for which a patch is provided
and at least one other developer or manager has agreed.
Meanwhile, trunk remains open for new work toward Beta1, our next milestone.

What is the point of having a .project file in root of trunk ?

Hey Nick,
Trying to import all of trunk and I notice there is now a .project file in trunk preventing import.
Seems it was aded earlier this month..

What is the purpose of that being there ?
One need to remove it to actually import the eclipse projects so i'm going to remove it for now.

REMINDER :: Code Freeze & branch for 3.3.0.M4 / 5.0.0.M4 is tonight

Just a reminder, today's the planned code freeze for the trunk
development toward our M4 milestone. QE is expecting a build they can
start testing in the next two days so they'll have a couple weeks to
test while parallel work continues in trunk.
If you have any reasons why we shouldn't spin the M4 branches today and
start those jobs running (while disabling the trunk ones for a few
days), please speak up now.
