[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-18919) Weak performance on Software/Update tab features loading
by Nick Boldt (JIRA)

---------------------------------------------------------------
Is it possible that the reason things are slower w/ 8.0.1 is that we haven't yet had all the Akamai edge servers populated? That is, it's slow the first couple times, but faster once the caching is all set up around the world?
I lauched JBDS 8.0.1.CR1-v20141207-0100-B352 4 times in a row and got these times for loading content in the Software/Updates tab:
25:20 - 26:04 = 44s
-----------------------------
26:45 - 27:23 = 38s
----------------------------
28:00 - 28:33 = 33s
----------------------------
29:35 - 30:08 = 33s
Can say conclusively (and repeatedly) that performance is slower w/ 8.0.x vs. 7.x?
Maybe this is a function of the integration stack content/metadata that has to now be loaded?

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-3294) Remove RichFaces tooling from default JBDS installation
by Nick Boldt (JIRA)
Nick Boldt commented on JBDS-3294:
----------------------------------
[~burrsutter] so to clarify, you want:
* DO NOT create a new Rich Faces connector in Central
* DO NOT remove org.jboss.tools.richfaces.feature from installer
* DO NOT change anything in JBoss Tools / Eclipse
* DO remove option for creation of Rich Faces projects from the File > New menu in JBDS

> With RichFaces going into maintenance mode in 2016, we should remove 'File-New RichFaces Project' and have RichFaces available in the Software/Update tab much like Seam.
