[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16343) "Materialize Libraries" is not obvious
by Fred Bricon (JIRA)
Fred Bricon commented on JBIDE-16343:
-------------------------------------
No, the pom.xml is not deleted. Users can still decide to import their project as a Maven project and go back to the original situation.

> While looking at [~fbricon] doing a demo I (and [~FroMage] and [~xcoulon]) felt that "Materialize Libraries" is not a clear name for what it does.
> Why not renaming it to "Copy libraries into Project..." or "Turn into Libraries inside project..." ?

> If you launch the Application wizard to create a new application you get the first wizard page where you should provide a name for your new application. Typing into this text-field is very slow, the inputs make it to the widget in a very delayed manner.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-15523) Application wizard: Embeddable (Add-on) cartridges are displayed with their description and not with their display names

> With the update to the latest OpenShift client (?) the OpenShift application / import wizard displays the embeddable (add-on) cartridges with their (very verbose) description where they should get shown with their display name:
> !embeddable-carts-with-descriptions.png!
> In consequence it's very awkward for some cartridges to know what cartridge is listed (not all embeddable cartridges start with their name in the description).
> Standalone (Web-) cartridges are not affected.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16343) "Materialize Libraries" is not obvious
by Burr Sutter (JIRA)
Burr Sutter commented on JBIDE-16343:
-------------------------------------
I think the warning for "this will also remove the Maven configuration from this project" needs to be a little more obvious. Basically the pom.xml will be deleted and the various Maven Eclipse settings will disappear and I assume that all these libraries will be added to the Eclipse classpath for the project - so the project essentially converts from a Maven-based build to an Eclipse-based build.
I assume there is no "undo", no simple recovery mechanism, so the end-user needs a strong warning, perhaps even "do you have a backup of your project"?

Nick Boldt updated JBDS-2889:
