[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22608) Support scenario when cdk is stopped from cli and then in devstudio
by Martin Malina (JIRA)

Martin Malina commented on JBIDE-22608:
---------------------------------------
[~rob.stryker], sorry, I meant disabled, i.e. greyed out. Just like if it was stopped actually. But not really, because the play button still said Restart, not Start (tooltip on mouse over). But when I tried again now, I can't reproduce. And it worked for me before. So...

> Key: JBIDE-22608

> Affects Versions: 4.4.0.Final
> Reporter: Martin Malina

>
> Assume your cdk is started and it's shown as started in devstudio, now what if you stop cdk from cli for whatever reason? Currently the tooling can't handle such situation.
> If you then try to stop cdk in devstudio, you get an error pop-up:
> Server Container Development Environment failed to stop.
> And the console will just say:
> ==> default: VM not created. Moving on...
> But most importantly, the server adapter will stay in the Started state.
> We should probably support this scenario - it's quite likely that it will happen to users.
> Right now there are several ways out of this situation:
> a) Start cdk from cli again and everything will probably work as expected
> b) Restart your IDE
> So I suggest we improve the tooling in such a way that when you stop cdk, it will be able to detect that it's actually not running and just change the state to Stopped. It may be still ok to pop up the error saying it failed to stop. But at least you can now start it again from the IDE.

Do you mean it's NOT displayed? This seems very strange to me. Can we get a screencast of it? Any time you see really weird stuff like this, get a screencast!

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-21745) Unable to download EAP 7 Beta runtime using username without "@redhat.com"
by Rob Stryker (JIRA)
Rob Stryker commented on JBIDE-21745:
-------------------------------------
One of my new usernames is experiencing the following:
1) After creating rh-dev acct, it already has all the required permissions
2) The old page that used to show up "It is no longer possible to accept terms and conditions in the wizard. Please, use following link instead!" does not show up, because the user already has valid subscription
3) The license agreement page shows.
4) The download succeeds.
Aside from the very confusing and seemingly random 500 error codes, everything seems to work as expected.

I've just made a new rhdev acct and the same thing happened. It never told me my username. I opened https://issues.jboss.org/browse/DEVELOPER-3265 to track it.
In other news, I just created rob+test2(a)oxbeef.net rhdev acct, which was given username rob-test2. I then tried to use this in eclipse, and am STILL getting the error 500.
Assuming I somehow Messed up the pw again, I reset the pw to something very very simple. I use it in eclipse: STILL getting result 500. Username 100% matches lost-username email. So I have no idea wtf is going on here.

I... can't exactly share that password... since it's very close to my kerberos password. Sorry. But it has lots of symbols and stuff.
Seems using the email to login was incorrect. The account names are different.
1) oliver.beef1(a)mail.com email address has rhdev acct name oliverbeef1,
2) rob+test(a)oxbeef.net has rhdev acct name rob-test
Not sure how I made this mistake 3 damn times in a row.
