As far as i know it was like that for years and for users there is no big problem. The feature which was intended to be used has been removed for 4.4.x due to its poor value (if I understood well)
So I think we can live with the stacktrace even if not very nice.

I deployed an eap app from the eap64-basic-s2i template, then created an openshift 3 server.
On server startup, publishing fails to complete after 5 minutes and a thread dump shows rsync is still blocking in the background.

[~rob.stryker] please comment in jira too.
[~aurelien.pupier] if you really need this fix in 4.3.x and have it fixed in 4.4.x is not enough for you then please speak up! We will need to raise this to our PM to see if we should/can do a bug fix release for 4.3.x
