On the other hand, afaik you can push to any branch, even it does not exist. Git will then
create a new one. In egit you actually have both:
You can freely type and use any branch to push to, but you can also select from a list of
existing branches.

When you open the detail of OpenShift server adapter you can change the Git remote name
by typing the new value. Could you change the text field to combo box filled with remote
names that are actually configured for the OpenShift project?
