Chris Odom commented on JBIDE-1954:
-----------------------------------
This issue maybe caused from a combination of things. Frist lets go through my eclipse
environment setup.
Eclipse Platform Version: 3.3.2 Build id: M20080221-1800
Web Tools Platform 'wtp-R-2.0.2-20080223205547'
Seam 2.0.1 GA
JBossTools 'JBossTools-200804080814-nightly-ALL-win32'
JBossAS 4.2.2.GA
I have craeted a Seam Project that is deployed as an EAR file. Several weeks of
development time has gone by and I have been deploying the ear to my JBoss Server instance
with only one issue. This issue probably needs to be in its own Bug but the deployer does
not include any EAR Content with in the deployment process that is an archive. Besides
that after some time I created a JCA 1.5 Connector project to use with in my Seam Project.
During the JCA project creation I did notice that the wizard had some troubles with the
ear selection portion. What I would see is that even though I selected the ear checkbox
the ear drop down list would not activate as in it stayed disabled. Unchecking an checking
a second time would enable the list. I selected my ear and used JCA 1.5 and Java 5.0 as my
only 2 facets and clicked finished. The Project was successfully created and the ear
descriptor files were correctly updated. While checking the new JCA's properties I
noticed that I could not see any Targeted Runtimes and when checking "Show all
runtimes" the correct ear Runtime shows up in the list but I can not select it as for
it is disabled and gives the facet warning text at the bottom. After all is said and done
I when I go to "publish" the ear file using the JBoss Server view every thing
that is in my ear gets deployed excpect the JCA project and the resources problem I
mentioned earlier. While using the Export tool I can successfully export the entire ear
archive to the JBoss Server with out any problems.
If you need more information please let me know.
Connector modules are not deployed
----------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-1954
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBIDE-1954
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: JBossAS
Affects Versions: 2.0.1, 2.0.0.GA
Environment: OS: Windows XP SP2, Ubuntu Linux 7.10
Eclipse versions: Eclipse Europa Fall2, Eclipse Europa Winter
Reporter: Roman Timushev
Assigned To: Rob Stryker
Fix For: 2.1.0.beta1
When trying to publish connector modules on server provided by JBoss Tools everything
looks right, but actually nothing is deployed. It doesn't work both for standalone
connectors and for connectors packaged in EAR archive. Standard JBoss server adapter
doesn't allow to deploy standalone connectors, but deploying ears with connectors
works well.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start "Create JavaEE/Enterprise Application Project" wizard
2. When you will be prompted for modules create a connector module.
3. Publish this EAR on standard JBoss server. Connector module will be packages in EAR
with .rar extension. Unpublish.
4. Publish this EAR on JBoss server provided by JBoss Tools. PROBLEM: There will be no
errors while publishing, but actually no .rar will be deployed.
5. Dissasociate connector from EAR module.
6. Try to publish connector module on the standard server. It is impossible ? not good,
but not a JBoss Tools issue.
7. Try to publish connector module on the JBoss Tools server. PROBLEM: It is possible,
but doesn't work.
