Snjeza, could you detail here how a random wizard can work with a project example
descriptor? cause you got me puzzled here. But I'd be really happy to be wrong with me
initial statement.
{quote}
If a wizard can include project examples dependencies, it can use the project examples
API.
Otherwise, the wizard can parse a project xml file and find the required plugins.
{quote}
But not sure the current design/layout of the central can handle just keep adding multiple
wizards in here - would be something to work out too, i.e. if there is a layout that would
allow "room" for all these.
{quote}
New wizards can be added to the project examples section. Maybe, we would have to create a
new project examples type for a SwitchYard wizard, but I don't see a reason to not
create a project using a SwitchYard wizard and, on the basis of it to create a project
example.
JBoss Central - Create Projects - Future Archetypes
---------------------------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-12962
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-12962
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: central
Affects Versions: 4.0.0.Alpha2
Reporter: Burr Sutter
Assignee: Fred Bricon
Currently JBoss Central's Create Projects section includes the following:
1) Dynamic Web Project
2) OpenShift Application
3) Java EE Web Project
4) Java EE Project (Java EE EAR Project)
5) HTML5 Project
6) RichFaces Project
7) SpringMVC Project
8) GWT Web Project
And in 2013 we can expect at least the following potential archetypes to be created:
- Portal/Gatein Project
- EDS/Teiid Project
- SOA/Switchyard Project
- BRMS/jBPM/BPMN2 Project
- BRMS/Drools Expert Project
These additional archetypes would only need to be available when the end-user has:
a) acquired the additional tools (JBoss Central - Software/Update tab)
b) potentially switched to the correct Perspective
This jira represents the "design" discussion.
