Rob Stryker resolved JBIDE-11858.
---------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 3.4.0.M1
Resolution: Done
Hi Jaroslav:
I've made significant cleanup here. I've opened two new bugs against eclipse for
their parts of the tooltip errors (see JBIDE_12291). One has to do with eclipse opening
empty tooltips when completely unnecessary. The other has to do with the 'escape'
not properly resetting tooltips on the root server object.
I've also made significant changes to the tooltip on our end. The original impl was
copied from wtp directly with only tiny changes. More work has gone in to make sure it
handles all situations properly, that all tooltips are properly disposed, that only one
tooltip shows up at a time, and all sorts of other issues.
As for "Ports" or other elements in the tree having no tooltip, this is just a
fact of life. Ideally, once the upstream bugs are fixed, empty tooltips will stop opening.
We have no plan to add tooltips to things like "Ports" since those are
configuration-based and can be added or removed by users. There's no way for us to
generate a proper tooltip for each element in the tree.
I have added a tooltip for the Server Details element. But I wouldn't expect
additional tooltips for all elements. Let's just hope wtp moves on these upstream
issues to help clean stuff up.
