[JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBDS-706) Add option to create a JBoss Portal project
by Joao Paulo Viragine (JIRA)
Add option to create a JBoss Portal project
-------------------------------------------
Key: JBDS-706
URL: https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBDS-706
Project: Developer Studio
Issue Type: Feature Request
Environment: JBDS 2.0.0.GA
Reporter: Joao Paulo Viragine
It would be nice if we could create a portal in JBoss Portal directly from JBDS/Tools.
We could have an option named: 'Create JBoss Portal Project', which included facets like JBoss Portlet and Seam (among others)
and created: portlet.xml, portlet-instances.xml and default-object.xml.
This option could prompt for a portal name, so we don't need to even define/create the portal in JBoss Portal Admin console. Everything would be done directly from JBDS/Tools.
Note that option would be slight different from an existing 'JBoss JSF/Seam Portlet' option that doesn't create a portal, only a portal page in an existing portal.

[JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBIDE-8331) New JBPM 3 process definition file naming and Eclipse view filtering breaks SCM
by joe freeman (JIRA)
New JBPM 3 process definition file naming and Eclipse view filtering breaks SCM
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JBIDE-8331
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-8331
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: jbpm
Affects Versions: 3.2.0.CR1
Reporter: joe freeman
Assignee: Koen Aers
Priority: Critical
The JBPM 3 file naming change mentioned in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-8330 combined with the SCM breakage from https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-7732 breaks Eclipse SCM plugins (Perforce) that require file checkouts when editing files. The new naming convention creates a hidden file that can't be seen by the user.
The old pre JBIDE-7732 behavior let the SCM system automatically check out and unlock files when opening for edit in Eclipse. Then the problem reported in JBIDE-7732 bypassed the SCM/file hooks so that folks were REQUIRED to manually check out all 3 JBPM files for a process definition. Now the new JBIDE-8330 behavior in 3.2.0 (maybe 3.1.0?) editor hides the gpd files from view which means it is no longer possible to check out in Eclipse.
The two changes in behavior make it very difficult to use JBpm 3.2.0 in Eclipse for new JBPM 3 process definitions under version control where file check outs are required.

[JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBDS-1547) Errors in JSF Tools Tutorial

Errors in JSF Tools Tutorial
----------------------------
Key: JBDS-1547
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-1547
Project: Developer Studio (JBoss Developer Studio)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Doc - JSFTools
Affects Versions: 4.0.0.CR1
Reporter: Vlado Pakan
This should be changed in JSF Tutorial: http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/nightly-docs/en/jsf_tools_tutorial/h...
Chapter 5. Editing the JSP View Files:
- new JSP templates are used for new pages generation so source code snippets and pages content screenshots are not actual
- there are instructions to edit jsp pages via Visual tab of VPE but it's not possible. I would prefer to change chapter to describe page editing via Visual/Source tab of VPE and using Source Pane of this tab not Visual pane because Drag and Drop from pallete to Visual Pane is not always working as user can expect
Chapter 6. Creating the Start Page
- there is no JSPRedirect Template for new JSP file mentioned in this chapter anymore. So instructions for creating of Start Page has to be changed.
