I think the issue is caused using the same workspace (default $HOME/workspace) directory in JBoss Developer Studio 5 and 7. I have both versions installed and initially the workspace directory was created by JBDS 5.

Just reinstalled JBDS 7.0.0GA and removed the workspace directory. Now it works.
