[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-2722) Include Kepler SR1 by default
by Michelle Murray (JIRA)
Michelle Murray commented on JBDS-2722:
---------------------------------------
[~nickboldt], I assume this means that:
1) the JBDS installer jar will have Eclipse Kepler SR1 in it (i.e., no additional update on first run after installation to get SR1)
2) JBDS 7.1.0 update will have Kepler SR1 update in it (again JBDS update and SR1 are packaged as 1 and user doen't need to complete two separate installs to get all; but in most cases will already have been applied via 7.0.1 update)
I know I will be able to check this behavior myself when Beta is released.

> Kepler SR1 has bugfixes - we should include it in upcoming release.
> * Affects JBT TP, JBDS TP, and JBDS installer.
> * Verification by comparing old TPs and installer contents to newer one, eg., using vwatch tool [1] or by scheduled job [2].

> Offline Usage of JBoss Central (Customers without or very slow Internet access)
> On-line once, then off-line - aka a user demo/instructional class - the testLocal cache is usable/complete after one on-line install. Provide a script that pre-caches everything for an instructor/demo'er in the field (online once, then offline).

[JBoss JIRA] (TOOLSDOC-426) Add info about JBDS Central TP zip
by Michelle Murray (JIRA)
Michelle Murray updated TOOLSDOC-426:
-------------------------------------
Description:
JBDS Central TP (3rd party) zip enables user to install 3rd party plug-ins while offline.
How is this implemented?
* Do users initiate the install download of Central TP from within IDE (like JBoss Central examples offline)?
* Or do users download the zip from access.redhat (+ other sites) like the update zip?
* And once users have zip how do they install bits of it? Window > Install New Software and point to zip on system (link install from update zip)?
Will require a new section in User Guide, Central chapter, probably in customization section.
