*Forward remote ports*
{quote}
You can forward the remote ports of the OpenShift server to your workstation to make it easier to manage various services, such as MySQL
{quote}
To me forwarding ports to your local machine is not about *making it easier* but about allowing you to access service from your local machine. As example there's no way for you to have mysql tools on your local machine accessing the mysql on OpenShift. The ports that the tool is using to talk to the database are not reachable, they're blocked by the firewall on OpenShift. The only way to have your local tool talk to the mysql on OpenShift is to forward those management ports to your local machine. Once you do this the tool can talk to the db on OpenShift.
