[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-13297) Prevent from associating xml files to Android xml editor
by Viacheslav Kabanovich (JIRA)
Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-13297:
-----------------------------------------------
There should be no default editor associated with extension 'xml'. For instance, if user select XML Editor in File Associations as default, all xml files in Eclipse will be opened by it by default, so that other editors can only be selected through 'Open With...'. User will have to remove/add again *.xml in File Associations to return to normal work.
We could remove ADT's editor from the list of default editors File Associations, but we should leave it empty. And that will not help, because then the editor registry will find ADT's editor as default by its declaration in plugin.xml.

> After installing the Android Development Tools into JBDS/JBT all xml files gets associated to Android Common Xml Editor, even pom.xml files which we used to open with the Maven POM Editor. This issue was discussed with Burr Sutter on Face2Face that it should be fixed.

Fred Bricon commented on JBDS-2492:

+1 to apply the PR, seems obviously safe.
However, I'd like to understand how the image got better? the way Eclipse loads it? Or Gnome?

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16413) [iOS] Incorrect value for XCode Bundle ID

Nick Boldt commented on JBIDE-16413:
------------------------------------
@burr Since fixed in master the fixversion should reflect that AND the 4.1.2.CR1 target. Also added the "jbds711" label so we can find these easier.
@gorkem please backport this to the 4.1.x branch too.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-15932) CordovaSim needs to display console logs especially during startup

Burr Sutter commented on JBIDE-15932:
-------------------------------------
I REALLY like what you show in that last video - having the ability to see the errors and logs is a HUGE win - I can't wait to try it for myself :-)

> When a cordova application is launched the console.log calls are not displayed on Eclipse console (or anywhere else). CordovaSim needs a place to display the logs either within eclipse or on the Ripple console so the user can be notified about errors happening early on.
> Just using firebug or similar would not solve this issue since it is not started early enough.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16398) Aerogear Push Plugin
by Burr Sutter (JIRA)
Burr Sutter commented on JBIDE-16398:
-------------------------------------
My goal would be to have:
1) The plugin should work with Hybrid Mobile Tools - my testing shows that it does not seem to like living in a HMT Project, though it does work in a "cordova create" command line project - perhaps it was end-user error - too many things happening
2) I have no interest in having CordovaSim simulate it but the "warning" message is very distracting - why can't CordovaSim/Ripple just ignore it or at least make a much less intrusive warning message? One thing I did not test, during livereload, is the message redisplayed with each reload?
Hello World for the Aerogear Cordova Push Plugin:
https://github.com/burrsutter/hellopush
I can make the steps work from the command line, but not from HMT. One problem being that Run on Android Device is broken for Macs and "cordova run android" won't work from a HMT project.

> Adding the Aerogear Push Cordova Plugin causes an error in CordovaSim/Ripple.
> Yes, APNS/GCM can not be simulated, however, we should attempt to augment the message to say "Push can not be simulated, use real hardware".

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-15763) Various issues when viewing WFK quickstarts with the internal web browser
by Alexey Kazakov (JIRA)
Alexey Kazakov updated JBIDE-15763:
-----------------------------------
Fix Version/s: 4.2.x
> Various issues when viewing WFK quickstarts with the internal web browser
> -------------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: JBIDE-15763
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15763
> Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: xulrunner
> Affects Versions: 4.1.1.Alpha2
> Reporter: Vineet Reynolds
> Fix For: 4.2.x
>
>
> Various issues are encountered when viewing some of the WFK quickstarts in the Eclipse internal browser:
> * HTML5 elements like header, footer, aside, etc. are not displayed as block elments. since xulrunner 1.9 when used as the internal browser, does not support these elements. This is related to JBIDE-10689.
> * Newer JavaScript features provided in EcmaScript5, like Array.isArray or window.getComputedStyle (that are available in browsers supported by WFK) are not available in xulrunner 1.9, leading to non-execution of JavaScript in frameworks like jQueryMobile 1.3.x, Lo-Dash 1.3.1 etc.
> We should document that the internal web browser is not recommended as a substitute for a real browser. Given the current situation,
> * we should recommend the use of an external browser, or
> * we should toggle the default web browser to an external web browser
