[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16400) Timeout shutdown poller does not wait for timeout
by Rob Stryker (JIRA)
Rob Stryker resolved JBIDE-16400.
---------------------------------
Assignee: Rob Stryker
Resolution: Rejected
If your server is started in local mode, and launches a process, then timeout poller is not the only thing involved in this workflow. We also listen on the process itself for a termination event. The reason we do this is in case the process is killed by a user in a terminal, for example. We need the eclipse environment to be as accurate as possible. So if we detect that the process itself has died or terminated in any way, we set the server to stopped before the poller has a chance to wait for the full timeout.
This is intended and is not a bug.

> Reporter: Martin Malina

>
>
> When you select "Timeout" as the Shutdown poller in server editor, one would expect the server to show stopped only after the timeout has elapsed (like it happens with the Timeout startup poller). Instead, the server is shown instantly once you stop the server.

Rob - what defaults do we use for EAP 6.x servers ?
If we use higher than 1024mb we could lower it to ensure it will start on xp too.
Otherwise this is a pure EAP batch/shell script issue.
