[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-18520) Open CDI Named Bean dialog: invisible bean names
by Alexey Kazakov (JIRA)
Alexey Kazakov created JBIDE-18520:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Open CDI Named Bean dialog: invisible bean names
Key: JBIDE-18520
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-18520
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: cdi
Affects Versions: 4.2.0.CR2
Reporter: Alexey Kazakov
Assignee: Victor Rubezhny
Fix For: 4.2.1.Final, 4.3.0.Alpha1
Attachments: scr.png
The bean names are invisible in my environment (Ubuntu/Unity, default schema):
!scr.png!
We should use the same fonts/colors which is used by the Open Type (Java) dialog which works fine.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-18506) Usage plugin sometimes locks JBT/JBDS
by Snjezana Peco (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-18506?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugi... ]
Snjezana Peco commented on JBIDE-18506:

by running initialization async, isn't there a chance that the screen resolution isn't initialized when it's requested (see #getScreenResolution(), line 107). Shouldn't we blocking wait for the screen resolution to be available?
{quote}
I don't think it can happen, because we first ask a user if he agrees JBT to receive usage statistics. The screen resolution will be called before that.
Anyway, locking JBT/JBDS is a worse issue than an entry with invalid screen resolution in the statistics.
{quote}
Snjezana Peco could you please describe exact steps which may cause that lock? And could you also attach a stack trace in case we won't able to reproduce it? I agree with Andre Dietisheim, we cannot just replace syncExec by asyncExec. But we have to understand why syncExec locks Eclipse here
{quote}
I think we must never use syncExec in the plugin's start method.
I have installed Eclipse Luna 4.4.1 SDK and updated JBT 4.2.0.CR1b on Linux, installed several SDKs (Sapphire, EMF, EGit, m2e, WTP...). The JBT freezes every time when starting in a new workspace.
I have noticed this behaviour before, but using Luna 4.4.1 the issue is reproducible.

> JBossToolsUsageActivator initializes settings when starting and calls
> AbstractEclipseEnvironment.initScreenSettings()
> that uses the Display.syncExec method
> which causes JBT/JBDS to freeze. The issue isn't always reproducible, but it often happens when starting JBDS/JBT in a new workspace.
> While I was testing JBIDE-16379, I reproduced it each time when I started Eclipse 4.4.1/JBT 4.2.0.CR1 in a new workspace.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-10155) JavaScript content assist issue with jQuery, but likely more
by Alexey Kazakov (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-10155?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugi... ]
Alexey Kazakov commented on JBIDE-10155:
----------------------------------------
We don't have such content assist in JBT 4.2.0. This is a specific jQuery content assist which is neither supported by JSDT nor by Tern.java

> Content assist with JavaScript with jQuery not working, or respecting namespaces. Most JavaScript content assist was fine.
> {code:JavaScript}
> <script type="text/javascript">
> $(document).ready(function() {
> //Fetches the initial member table
> updateMemberTable();
> //Register a event listener on the sumbit action
> $('#reg').submit(function(event) {
> event.preventDefault();
> var formValues = $(this).serialize();
> registerMember(formValues);
> });
> });
> </script>
> {code}
> Any call to "$('foo')." does not show any content assist. Using "jquery('foo'." instead of $ partially worked, but still not 100%. Not all the expected values are there. This makes me think there is two issues.
> To see the problem import the project I attached and try out desktop.html, or app.js.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-15714) Dynamic content assist for AngularJS expressions in html files
by Alexey Kazakov (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15714?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugi... ]
Alexey Kazakov commented on JBIDE-15714:
----------------------------------------
The idea is to execute our special JS on the users project via livereload server and websockets. This JS should collect real JS objects and give them back to Eclipse via a websocket connection.
These proposals are supposed to complement the proposals from Tern.java/AngularJS IDE/JSDT content assist.
We have not implemented it for JBT 4.2.0.
