[JBoss JIRA] (JBTIS-358) Use wrapper features to simplify the install and clean up the Marketplace UI?
by Nick Boldt (JIRA)
Nick Boldt created JBTIS-358:
--------------------------------
Summary: Use wrapper features to simplify the install and clean up the Marketplace UI?
Key: JBTIS-358
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBTIS-358
Project: JBoss Tools Integration Stack
Issue Type: Bug
Components: distribution
Affects Versions: 7.0.3.GA
Reporter: Nick Boldt
Fix For: 7.1.0.GA-JBDSIS
For 7.1.0, could consider having wrapper features to simplify the install and clean up the Marketplace UI. Doing so would mean instead of a laundry list of features in the UI, we could list only 3 features.

Nick Boldt updated JBTIS-355:
-----------------------------
Description:
* In JBDS 8.1, add a new com.jboss.devstudio.core.central.feature that packages up com.jboss.devstudio.core.central plugin;
** include this in com.jboss.devstudio.core.feature instead of the plugin?
* enable usage tracking in JBT IS components' MANIFST.MF files
* create three connectors, each based on the content in JBDS IS disco plugin.xml's top three BIG connectors; include com.jboss.devstudio.core.CENTRAL.feature in order to install Central along for the ride
(For JBDS 9, we will look at making the Central feature much smaller so the footprint is significantly smaller.)

Nick Boldt edited comment on JBTIS-354 at 11/6/14 10:42 AM:
------------------------------------------------------------
Create one or three Marketplace solutions, each based on the content in JBDS IS disco plugin.xml's top three BIG connectors (DV, Fuse, B*MS);
Must include com.jboss.devstudio.core.feature in order to install Central along for the ride
(In future releases we can explore including less, but for now, that's required.)
was (Author: pleacu):
Need to include the common devstudio JBoss central feature. Larger but simpler for the user at install time.

<b>NOTE</b>: If you are using Oracle JDK 7u40 (1.7.0_40), and encounter an issue using <a href="https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15494">JBoss Central</a>, Eclipse Marketplace or Mylyn, it may be due to a <a href="https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8025128">temp file creation bug</a>. Please use a newer JDK version, such as <a href="http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-down...">7u45 (1.7.0_45)</a>.
<b>NOTE</b>: Note: JBoss Developer Studio can run on Java 8, but <a href="http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/java8/">Java 8 <b>development</b> support</a> requires the installation of additional <a href="http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/requirements/kepler/java8/">patch features</a>.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17058) Add new widgets to HTML 5.0 Palette

> Now HTML5 has only 5 elements: <form>, <label>, <audio>, <image>, <video>.
> However, there are a lot of new elements in HTML 5.0 (http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_new_elements.asp) <canvas>, <embed>, <datalist>, <keygen>, <output>, <header>, <nav>, <section>, <main>, <article>, <aside>, <footer>, <details>, <summary>, <figure>, <mark>, <time>, <bdi>, <wbr>, <dialog>, <meter>, <progress>.
> Besides, some old elements, like <table> also can be added to the palette.
> [~burrsutter], [~maxandersen], could you please advise, which elements may be nice to add to the HTML 5.0 palette.
