[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16963) Update as.mgmt.wf jars to use Final jars as used in wf-8.0.0.Final
by Rob Stryker (JIRA)
Rob Stryker created JBIDE-16963:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Update as.mgmt.wf jars to use Final jars as used in wf-8.0.0.Final
Key: JBIDE-16963
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-16963
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: server
Affects Versions: 4.2.0.Beta1
Reporter: Rob Stryker
Assignee: Rob Stryker
Fix For: 4.2.0.Beta1
The plugin in charge of holding mgmt jars for communicating with wildfly should not be using old beta jars.
While I don't think there are critical issues with the old jars, somehow this week I am suddenly unable to start wf using the management-poller (local w mgmt or remote w mgmt profiles), though I am sure this used to work properly.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-16896) download runtime UI wizards has some weird workflow
by Michelle Murray (JIRA)

Michelle Murray commented on JBIDE-16896:

Also - is there some way to make it very prominent that the wizard is asking for jboss.org credentials? put it in bold or something? I spent ages trying my access.redhat username/password since I was downloading EAP so assumed those would be the ones required. Only after lots of failing did I read the text description and see I needed my jboss.org one. User error I know, but that's users for you - and I bet I won't be the last!

> using download runtime the dialogs gets maxed out dependent on the lenght of the URL it looks like.
> Making the wizard very clumsy to look and work with.
> - the table is just taking up all space - and the url is not useful (can't copy/paste/link it)
> - the table is in a dailog and there is 90% whitespace
> How about
> A) show the name and description in table
> B) Show the *info* url and if authorization is required enable username/password on the first page instead of requiring a second page for just that ?
> C) why can't we do authentication in a progress when clicking next instead of requiring users to manually click validate ?
> or at least tell the user to validate instead of just blanking out Next and *once* the credentials are valid actually show that isntead of just enabling Next.
> D) the license text shown is LGPL license - not $0 subscription (opening separate bug for this)
> E) the info url for the server is never actually shown in the workflow
> F) when clicking finish the dialog returns instantly to JBoss Runtime creation and it tells me the home dir does not exist...why did it not fill it in and let me wait ?
> G) It actually creates the server for me in the background *while* im in the server wizard flow....thats just weird.

marking this as blocker since it is just not guiding the user through this process in a clear enough way.

> If I understand everything correct from email thread [~maxandersen] wants to have something like in attached screenshot(standart console where error log and terminate button presents) for BrowserSim and CordovaSim launching.
> My point that it could be done for CordovaSim because it's a launch tool, but not for BrowserSim because it's "just a browser".
