Is there any option where I can upgrade from 8.0.0 to 8.1.0 without downloading the installer? As I have to get some approvals and it might take some time.

It Seems that I have the below version.
Version: 8.0.0.GA
Build id: GA-v20141020-1042-B317
Build date: 20141020-1042
Does 8.0.0 has some issues with the plug-in? and if I install 8.1.0 GA will it be resolved?
