> [~jtyrrell] find it confusing when he cannot see Fuse and other earlyaccess features immediately on the install page.
> Some comments:
> "I install JBDS 8.1 and click on the JBoss Integration and SOA Development, but where is the Fuse tooling in that list."
> "<without earlyaccess> why doesn’t my screen shot tell me to use an older version of JBDS or something."
> Suggestion:
> "when I picked the Integration Stack a greyed out Fuse IDE thingy in the list of choices, and something like (Select early Access) to enable this feature."
> I'm fine exploring options to show early access features more prominently but would prefer we would not need to treat Fuse "special" so maybe we should have a "Early Access" section at the bottom instead of filtered in between everything else ?
> and for any connectors that has additional/different features just add a "Extra features available in Early access " comment ?
> But what to do when Fuse or others dont even have an earlyaccess out yet ? (like is currently the state for devstudio 9)
> [~crobson], [~aileenc] and [~lhein] got any suggestions ?

should we not close this issue since the main development are done.
The last issue about having the actually right release of IS discovery site should be done separately to avoid solving to many issues in one jira ?

[~nickboldt] your last comment is not true as far as I can. please see https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-20100?focusedCommentId=13110938&pag...
Try to elaborate here:
#2 will and can happen by users directly installing from early builds - but since the connector has no IU's while listed as as "not available" then there is no way central can know that you have installed it.
#3 same as #2. as long as we have notavailable connectors that are empty then they will show up in central no matter how much or how little you have installed.
*once* the connectors actually start listing IU's *then* what you install will affect what shows up/is available in central to be installed.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-20100) how to make users aware of fuse and other tooling only being available from earlyaccess?
by Nick Boldt (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-20100?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugi... ]
Nick Boldt commented on JBIDE-20100:
------------------------------------
{quote}
2) JBDS 9.0 users, with JBDS 9.0.CR1 and JBDSIS 9.0.alpha1 installed, will see this message in Central for each SOA/Fuse entry:
"Available in Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 8.x. Coming soon to 9.0 - Stay tuned..."
{quote}
There is no JBDS IS 9 Alpha1 to be installed. So you would see the "coming soon" message.
Then it will be released, and will become available.
So #2 will never happen. Once you've installed it, it can't very well be "not available."
{quote}
3) JBDS 9.0 user, with JBDS 9.0.GA and JBDSIS 9.0.alpha installed will see the SOA/Fuse entries available in Central via early access and no "coming soon" messages.
{quote}
Once JBDSIS 9.0.alpha has been installed, you won't see it in Central unless you check the "show installed" box. This is nearly the same logical problem as #2: it can't be installed AND available at the same time.
