[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-21821) JBoss Developer Studio Marketplace Install Breaks Egit in Mars.2
by Mickael Istria (JIRA)
Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-21821:
----------------------------------------
Right, a better solution is to fix that in current TP and release it right away. However, it brings another issue: if we update the version of this bundle, we need to update the version of EGit, which is included as part of the SimRel repository, so we need to update the SimRel repository... It makes us need to release the whole target-platform as it is on current 4.52.x branch ASAP, if it's still compatible with current 4.3.0/9.0 release.

> Installing Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 9.0.0GA into a fresh Eclipse 4.5.2 (for Eclipse Committers) causes Egit to break.
> # Install Eclipse 4.5.2
> # In the Marketplace, search for "jboss developer studio"
> # You get a single result: Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 9.0.0 GA
> # Install it
> # Restart
> # Observe: the EGit views and preferences are missing
> # Observe: you get messages in the Eclipse error log concerning a dependency version incompatibility

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-21840) Checkbox to save password in Secure Storage is not checked when password is stored
by Viacheslav Kabanovich (JIRA)
Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-21840:
-----------------------------------------------
Attempt to access secure storage in order to set this checkbox may invoke dialog asking password for secure storage (at least if it has not yet appeared in the current session). It will be very annoying for a user who _have not_ selected to save password before.

> In OpenShift connection wizard there is a checkbox to store password/token in secure storage. If I choose on an existing OpenShift 3 connection with basic authentication to store password in secure storage, technically it is stored and visible on Secure Storage preference page, but in Connection wizard it is not visible. Upon next opening of the Edit Connection wizard, checkbox is unchecked although password is checked.

Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-21847:

[~mlabuda], does any of local ports in table has mark "(in use)"? Please select checkbox "Find free local ports for remote ports", will it take effect on Start All button? Then unselect the checkbox again. Also, please check for errors in log.

> In Port Forwarding wizard when I start port forwarding, then stop it, the button Start All is disabled and it is not possible to start port forwarding again. Well, both buttons after starting and stopping are disabled, only OK is enabled.

[JBoss JIRA] (TOOLSDOC-667) Document how to use the EAP online maven repo
by Misha Ali (JIRA)
Misha Ali commented on TOOLSDOC-667:
------------------------------------
Hi [~supriya.bharadwaj], Xavier reviewed and merged the PR for this, so you can go ahead and publish the article on the Customer Portal. If you'd like me to review the placement or something else, just tag me in this issue. If not, feel free to add a link to the docs upstream and in enterprise docs and close this JIRA.

> In TOOLSDOC-499 it was mentioned that we have a guide that explains how to add jboss enterprise maven repositories, but it would be nice to also mention the alternative of using the online repo.
> From TOOLSDOC-499:
> {quote}
> Alternatively, you can use the online repository: In the Add Maven Repository dialog, in the Profile ID field at the top, select "redhat-techpreview-all-repository" in the drop down menu. This will add http://maven.repository.redhat.com/techpreview/all/ to your settings.xml and that should satisfy the dependencies.
> {quote}
> Something similar could be added in a box in this doc:
> (or a similar doc for JBDS 9 once it's ready)

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-3618) Progress does not reflect actual amount of work done

[~dgolovin] is this something we are going to do anything about? Or can we mark it as "not going to fix"?

> It seems the current way the progress tracking is implemented is simply by giving an initial time estimate for each component. The progress bars then just count down the supplied time with no relation to the actual progress achieved.

Misha Ali commented on TOOLSDOC-712:

Sorry about that, [~apodhrad], I misunderstood. I've added back the old issues and arranged in the appropriate order and set the XML to numbered list to count the total (screenshot attached). I think we're at the correct number of bugs now. The preview is still at the same link and I'm pushing an update to the public docs immediately as well.

> In the current version of the installer, after a successful installation the user exits the installer by closing the installer window. It would be more "polished" if we added a close button in the UI.
