> When a user runs the installer, he/she is presented with an error message indicating that the T&C for the CDK must be completed before the installer can be run.
> The user is able to accept the T&C by initiating a download of the CDK here:
> http://developers.redhat.com/products/cdk/download/
> If the installer is going to require that the T&C for the CDK be accepted BEFORE it can be run, than we must, at the very least, clearly document this for the users. It would be a better solution of the installer were self-contained by enabling the user to accept the CDK T&C from inside the installer UI.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-3567) Offline install instructions are very unclear
by Mustafa Musaji (JIRA)
[ https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-3567?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.... ]
Mustafa Musaji commented on JBDS-3567:
--------------------------------------
Apologies this took so long for me to notice. Passing this to [~rick_wagner] for visibility as he's the Support Product Lead for Developer Tools etc. Thanks for the explanation [~nickboldt], I'm happy for this to close though but you should get Rick's okay too if you think it's necessary. I'm sure you could raise on the weekly support call and just mention it then.
Thanks
Mus

> I came across this - https://access.redhat.com/articles/1367643. I'm puzzled by the instructions on here and what this page is meant to do.
> Firstly there's no mention at all of downloading the ZIP from the CSP. https://access.redhat.com/jbossnetwork/restricted/listSoftware.html?produ...
> I don't know what the groovy stuff is meant to do, installing and setting up a local maven repo is not in the scope of a JBDS set up but I believe either way it's wrong for this page.
> Part 2 talks about "You can install the JBoss and third-party plug-ins listed in JBoss Central in offline mode using the JBoss Central Site .zip file" but then doesn't mention where to download these zips (CSP).

> Would be good to:
> 1. Show progress animation;
> 2. Lock [Log In] button;
> 3. Have a timeout for login operation with error show in the end and button unlocked for another attempt.
> Currently auth fails in browser with error below
> {code}Gateway Timeout
> The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.
> Reference #1.5434d417.1452674127.644f0c55
> {code}
> which makes installer to look like being in broken state:
> - no errors;
> - [Log In] can be pressed many times without any reaction

> Currently Developer studio is installed under the folder {{DeveloperStudio}} within the installation directory. All other programs use lower case directory names for their install directory (eg vagrant, cygwun, jdk8, etc). For consistency it should be developerstudio or developer-studio. See screenshot.
