[JBoss JIRA] (TOOLSDOC-718) Getting Started / Readme for new CDK users
by Misha Ali (JIRA)
Misha Ali commented on TOOLSDOC-718:
------------------------------------
Details from Fred:
I guess we need to explain how to use the new CDK Server adapter in the servers view
Cmd+3 or Ctrl+3 to execute the Launch CDK Server command
it'll ask your credentials from the Red Hat portal first
it'll start the CDK
the CDK will start an OpenShift instance
An OpenShift connection with credentials openshift-dev (pw: devel) will be automatically created, available at https://10.1.2.2:8443
Alternatively users can connect or manually create a new OpenShift connection with OpenShift cluster admin privileges, by login with admin (pw: admin). But this is for more advanced users
A Docker connection to the CDK will be created in the Docker Explorer (the view is hidden by default, needs to be opened manually)
The rest is standard openshift doc

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-21841) Shortened repo URL in Import wizard is weird

[~fbricon], please take a look at the pull request https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-openshift/pull/1098 which makes code reusable.

> When Importing an OpenShift 3 application via File - Import - Existing OpenShift Application, there is a wizard page to select a build config to import application repo. We should display repo name as styled text with style (grayed) and it should not be shorten or at least not like this when there is missing a part in the middle of URL.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22078) Error publishing war file to wildfy 8 or above on windows
by Rob Stryker (JIRA)
Rob Stryker commented on JBIDE-22078:
-------------------------------------
My experience with wf8 is identical to the wf10. The app may still be 'available' but it is not up-to-date and no changes to it can be made unless you restart the server. The files and folders are locked.

> The following error is thrown after publishing a maven webapplication (.war) to Wildfly 10.0:
> "Error renaming C:\wildfly-10.0.0.Final\standalone\tmp\tmp8945090880188299781.properties to C:\wildfly-10.0.0.Final\standalone\deployments\WebViewer-0.0.3-SNAPSHOT.war\META-INF\maven\nl.incad.webviewer\WebViewer\pom.properties.
> This may be caused by incorrect file permissions, or your server's temporary deploy directory may be on a different filesystem than the final destination.
> You may adjust these settings in the server editor."
> The webapplication is no longer available/online after the error. The only solution is to restart the server and to re-add the webapplication to the server. This makes it very hard to develop/test a webapplication on wildfly 10. The same error is thrown on wildfly 8.0/8.1, but the difference is that the webapplication is still available/online after the error.
> I've tried/tested the following:
> - Checked/updated Windows file permisions for the wildfly directory
> - Take ownership of the wildfly directory (recursively)
> - Disabled Windows User Account Control (UAC)
> - Run Eclipse as Admin
> Relates to:
> - JBIDE-18697
> - JBIDE-17545

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22128) Openshift 3 plugin "Server Adapter" doesn't respect openshift maven profile

Fred Bricon commented on JBIDE-22128:

that was actually an excellent question, because it was not created :-) Works much better now :-) Another PEBCAK...

> I have a Java project with an "openshift" maven profile that creates a ROOT.war
> When I create a "Server Adapter", the openshift plugins deploys the name of the project.war
> The plugin should be integrated with M2E in a way that if I select/enable the "openshift" profile on M2E, the Openshift plugin should deploy ROOT.war through "Server Adapter".

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-22131) Some commands in openshift ui plugin.xml miss definition
by Viacheslav Kabanovich (JIRA)
Viacheslav Kabanovich created JBIDE-22131:
---------------------------------------------
Summary: Some commands in openshift ui plugin.xml miss definition
Key: JBIDE-22131
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-22131
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: openshift
Affects Versions: 4.3.1.CR1
Reporter: Viacheslav Kabanovich
Assignee: Viacheslav Kabanovich
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 4.4.0.Alpha1
Commands work as is, but plugin.xml shows warning. Let's not rely on Eclipse kindly creating missing definitions at runtime.
