I tried again with cdk 2.1 from a week ago and it worked. So it's some kind of regression in cdk 2.1 rc3. I'm using the same vagrant box for virtualbox (I believe there wasn't a new one). The plugins are the same version. (vagrant global-status) I have seen a problem similar to this in the past - when a previous install was not fully cleaned up.
