Key: JBDS-4069
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-4069
Project: Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (devstudio)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: platform-installer
Affects Versions: 10.1.0.GA
Reporter: Denis Golovin
Fix For: 10.2.0.AM3
Confirmation and Install pages have scrolling. BreadCrumb should always stay on to of the page to let user see current steps and overall installation progress without scrolling back up.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-4068) There should be UI to show additional info for detected JDK
by Denis Golovin (JIRA)
Denis Golovin created JBDS-4068:
-----------------------------------
Summary: There should be UI to show additional info for detected JDK
Key: JBDS-4068
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-4068
Project: Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (devstudio)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: platform-installer
Affects Versions: 10.2.0.AM3
Reporter: Denis Golovin
Assignee: Denis Golovin
When vagrant and virtualbox are provided each from the only vendor, the story is different for OpenJDK, because there are several vendors:
- Oracle;
- Red Hat;
- Zulu;
- IBM.
Also on 64-bit system both 32-bit and 64-bit JDK could be installed.
Current UI for OpenJDK component shows only version fro detected JDK. There should be UI to see additional info about selected JDK like vendor and arch.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBDS-4067) Review labels shown for software components on confirmation page
by Denis Golovin (JIRA)
Denis Golovin created JBDS-4067:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Review labels shown for software components on confirmation page
Key: JBDS-4067
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-4067
Project: Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (devstudio)
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: platform-installer
Affects Versions: 10.1.0.GA
Reporter: Denis Golovin
Fix For: 10.2.0.AM3
On confirmation page installer shows list of components from software stack. For most components there is detection algorithm that can find already installed components, so installer can skip install. There should be term selected for set of version for the required components:
* required;
* recommended;
* tested;
* ?

> Most installers have a single progress bar that shows the overall progress, and then text which explains which component is being installed right now.
> Update:
> After discussion on backlog grooming session it seems reasonable to have two progress bars instead of one. Considering size of downloaded resources and time spend for downloading/installation we might have much longer installation time than now with single progress bar. Instead we can start downloading resources and install them as soon as download is finished. That would let us run installation in sequence and avoid problems with running two MSI installer at the same timed. Also that would save some time and do installation for smaller components while download for big ones is in progress.

> After referring through the [devsuite-installation guide#CDK Installation Failure|http://jenkinscat.gsslab.pnq.redhat.com:8080/view/Devtools/job/doc-devsuite_Installation%20Guide%20%28html-single%29/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/index.html#_cdk_installation_failure] for CDK installation failure which says install *Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)* and reinstall the installer, my CDK installation failed even after having above package and reinstalling the installer.
> I am expecting that devsuite should handle the already existing box automatically.
> Does it mean we should update the documentation saying "uninstall the previous devsuite installation" which will remove everything including box and then reinstall the installer?
