[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-25308) Cannot start CDK server adapter with different minishift home

Martin Malina edited comment on JBIDE-25308 at 10/30/17 12:35 PM:
------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see the same.
The main problem seems to be that the Minishift Home field in server adapter is not propagated into launch config's Environment tab - that one will still show ~/.minishift.
So it's actually very easy to reproduce this problem:
1. Open server editor for a cdk adapter
2. Change Minishift Home to a custom value, save
3. Open Launch config and check the Environment tab
Assert: the MINISHIFT_HOME in launch config shows your custom value
Actual result: MINISHIFT_HOME in launch config shows the default value of ~/.minishift
The above applies to both cdk 3 and cdk 3.2+ adapters.

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-25192) Error when eclipse environment has MINISHIFT_HOME different from adapter
by Martin Malina (JIRA)
Martin Malina commented on JBIDE-25192:
---------------------------------------
[~odockal] when I roughly followed the steps, I was able to start cdk in devstudio without a problem.
Then I stopped cdk, deleted ~/.minishift and then did a cdk setup in a custom folder.
I changed the server adapter to use this new cdk home. But then I looked at the launch config and it still showed MINISHIFT_HOME = ~/.minishift. So I think that's the main problem. The minishift home field in the server editor is not propagated into the launch config's env var.

> Steps to reproduce:
> 1) Start eclipse with an environment that has a MINISHIFT_HOME set to one value
> 2) Create a server adapter with the default minishift home ~/.minishift (ie make no changes)
> 3) via cmdline, try to setup cdk using cdk 3.2a and the .minishift home folder
> 4) Try to start the server
> Expected results: Server starts as expected
> Actual results: No minishift_home is set. The eclipse environment's minishift home is used. The server attempts to start and tells you to call setup-cdk. The user gets very confused, because the server editor clearly is using ~/.minishift as the home.

Lukáš Valach closed JBDS-4595.
------------------------------
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
I am closing this issue as we can't reproduce the problem with httpclient. I have moved the Spring IDE issue to jira JBDS-4615 to keep unrelated issues in separated threads.

> Our "Install all from Central" test found some BundleExceptions in the log, see \[1\].

> It seems that there are some plugins which are not compatible with each others. The "install one by one" test passed as green \[2\]. So individual plugins work fine.
