[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-23889) jbosstools-composite-install_master sends lots of nag emails when something goes awry (as it should)
by Mickael Istria (JIRA)
Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-23889:
----------------------------------------
In case of failure (that can happen), the job runs continuously, locking a CI slave and sends spam. This should be fixed for CI infrastructure sake.
As explained in my initial comment, the SLEEP_TIME parameter seems ignored. It's fine to have the job retrigger itself, the initial delay (30 minutes) is a good value; the issue is that it is ignored so the job retriggers mutliple times per minute.
The error reported are still useful, but it's not a related issue. Here we're really speaking about the job config, not about the build state and errors it reports.

> jbosstools-composite-install_master re-runs itself on failure. However, it seems like the SLEEP_TIME parameter is now ignored, resulting on constant re-run of the job and a lot of spam (multiple mails per minutes). Additionally to spam, this adds a relatively big load on Jenkins and slaves queue.
> I've removed the re-run on failure block of the downstream job trigger as a temporary workaround.
