When you select a link in the file picker on macOS in Eclipse, the server adapter now points directly to the linked minishift binary, not using the symlink. Again, I think that's because of the way Finder / File picker works on macOS. I created a symlink ~/tmp/Downloads that points to ~/Downloads. If I go to ~/tmp in Finder and then double-click the Downloads symlink, now I'm in ~/Downloads. I remember I came across something similar in the past with CDK 2.x. My installation script would install a given cdk build to a directory based on the date. So added a symlink "latest-install" for easier usage. But this didn't work in Eclipse, because the dialog would always follow the symlink instead of treating it like a regular directory. After tracing through with [~adietish], we think it's the behavior of the mac osx file chooser. [~mmalina] Can you check this on linux / mac? I don't think windows has symlink, does it? If it does, try it there too.
