As you can see in this screenshot, there is no visible "prolog" in the file,
but, since it was saved with an external editor using "UTF-8 with Signature"
also known as "UTF-8Y" it causes problems, and there is no easy way to know what
is going on, or to fix it.

If, for example, components.xml is edited with another XML that saves it with encoding
UTF-8Y then the visual editor produces an error (I like that) but it does not help to fix
it (It took me a lot of hours to find out what was going on). It should offer to remove
the UTF-8Y BOM.
