Nick Boldt commented on TOOLSDOC-396:
-------------------------------------
Technically, this release is only achieving two things:
a) workaround for a bug in the latest Oracle JDK
b) update target platform to include Kepler SR1 bits
As to the upgrade path, you can try it yourself. See details in
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-15509?focusedCommentId=12807703&...
or follow the steps below:
i) Install JBDS 7.0.0
ii) add the JBDS 7.0.1.CR3 site to JBDS' list of available sites -
http://www.qa.jboss.com/binaries/RHDS/updates/development/7.0.1.CR3.core/
iii) Help > check for updates
iv) after restart, look in Help > About and see what is installed.
Should be equivalent (minus the JBDS "Branded Product" feature) to this:
i) Install Eclipse 4.3
ii) add the JBDS 7.0.1.CR3 site to JBDS -
http://www.qa.jboss.com/binaries/RHDS/updates/development/7.0.1.CR3.core/
iii) Help > install > JBDS "Core Features" feature / BYOE feature
iv) after restart, look in Help > About and see what is installed.
You should be able to start with Eclipse 4.3.0, 4.3.1, Kepler R or Kepler SR1 and still
end up with the same resulting installed footprint.
