this is duplicate to JBIDE-7317. Everything was set so that the url conversion was
executed in the background. Unfortunately I had a 2nd erroneous binding that was in the UI
thread. It should be fixed in the current client though.

Typing "http:" manually into url field on "New Connection" blocks
eclipse.
I assume that the url check is performed in the main thread and the network lookup is not
done with a proper timeout handling.
