Alexander Rühl commented on JBIDE-1966:
---------------------------------------
I am really suprised that this problem from 2008 is still a problem in 2012...
Anyway, the reproduction is quite simple: Open a properties file with many entries and
have the Outline View open at the same time and you can shake hands with each letter you
type before it appears. (And this I experienced on different machines, different OS
(WinXP, Win7, Ubuntu), different eclipse (Helios, Indigo) and different JBoss Tools
versions.)
Unfortunately, this is something across many of JBoss Tools, that they make themselves
default for many file types and being extremely slow on opening, editing, searching or
other. I think, despite all the useful functionality the editors bring with them, they
should always be fast enough with typical setups.
properties editor very slow

Key: JBIDE-1966
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-1966
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: common/jst/core
Affects Versions: 2.0.0.GA
Reporter: Martin Trummer
Assignee: Viacheslav Kabanovich
Fix For: LATER
unfortunately I can't provide a recipe to reproduce the problem.
However: It seems to happen when:
I open 2 properties files - each about 300 lines
I have the properties files open for some time (not using it)
then I add a line and save it: in this case eclipse is stuck for 1-2 seconds.
I only have about 300 properties in the editor.
