Brian Fitzpatrick commented on JBIDE-4191:
------------------------------------------
Hey Aaron...
What I'm proposing is a bit different than what was done for the JBT Examples that
pull in Quickstarts as whole projects. Though the user can change the project after
bringing it in, it's not really all that useful beyond having - as the wizard says -
an example.
My implementation would not require connection to the Internet - it would provide
standalone code for each quickstart that would allow the user to, for example, reference
their own web service they want to proxy. The upside is that it's more configurable
and will hopefully do more of the heavy lifting up front. The downside is that each
quickstart would require custom coding to get into the product.
However, I see your point about a more general approach. It would allow a user to step
through a guided path to create the service, gateway, listeners, actions, etc...
There's a different JIRA about having a way to register actions so the UI knows where
to get the list of supported options, so hopefully we could manage some kind of framework
for registering a named action and any associated properties that would need to be set.
