No, the version element is supposed to be blank!
The version info should come from the BOM or explicit listing in the dependency management
section.
Did you have the ER3 repo configured in your ~/.m2/settings.xml ?

When you try to create the Spring MVC Project from JBoss Central with EAP 6.0.0.ER3 (i.e.
enterprise=true) you are offered a quick fix dialog with a lot of errors and none of them
offers a fix. Most of the errors are of this sort:
Project build error: 'dependencies.dependency.version'
for aopalliance:aopalliance:jar is missing.
