Not catching general failure now, reporting it in an error dialog as before. Catching
"instance not found" exception since this is the only case that indicates that
auth was successful.

steps to reproduce:
1) have a mock server running
2) create a new connection to it
3) give it a name
4) set "mockuser" as user, "mockpassword" as password
5) test the connection by hitting the "Test" button
Result:
an error dialog pops up that reports that the instance "madeupValue" was not
found
Expected Result:
The test succeeds
