Rob Stryker commented on JBIDE-9424:
------------------------------------
Hi David!
So, here are the steps for the stuff I worked on. Hopefully you can introduce me to a more
useful case, but for now I just did the basic case, as follows:
1) Create a PDE / OSGi / plugin project (The hello-world osgi template is a good one)
2) Create an "AS 7 Server Adapter" (right-click in server view, new, server,
JBoss Community, 7.x, etc)
3) In the server view, start the as7 server
4) Right-click on the server in the view, select "Add / Remove Modules"
5) Move the osgi project over, click finish, wait for it to deploy :D
You should see your hello world osgi app load in your as7, and the "Hello
World!" message appear somewhere in the ensuing output.
So again, this clearly is the one-bundle simple use-case. I'd love to hear how you and
other users might want it to function or intend it to function, or what's missing in
regards to the export functionality.
Thanks again!
Provide the ability to deploy OSGi bundles

Key: JBIDE-9424
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-9424
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: JBossAS
Reporter: David Bosschaert
Assignee: Rob Stryker
Attachments: osgi-eclipse.png
AS7 supports OSGi bundles as deployments, and Eclipse supports the creation of OSGi
bundles through the built-in PDE tooling (see [1] for an example). However, OSGi bundles
developed with Eclipse PDE can't be deployed via the JBDS to AS7 yet.
Support for deploying OSGi bundles to AS7 should be added to the JBoss Tooling.
