I don't think that is the case. I've downloaded the very same devstudio build and
installed it on its own with nothing like this happening.
I've also extracted the jbds jar from the installer and ran it and got the same result
as when run from the bundled installation.
So it really looks to me that the file is somehow corrupted, rather than the entire
build.

It installs OK, it starts up and looks like this:

Lots of widgets not loaded at all, the start icon is default eclipse one, sometimes it
refuses to start at all until a clean workspace is selected.
And still, no errors in the log.
