Viacheslav Kabanovich commented on JBIDE-11440:
-----------------------------------------------
JBoss Central is implemented as an editor part rather than as a view. In this capacity, it
cannot be associated with JBoss Perspective, or any other perspective, it is made a
feature of the workbench itself. For example, if you check 'Show on startup',
close JBoss Central, select some perspective, e.g. Resource, and restart Eclipse, you will
have Resource perspective with JBoss Central showed. Getting Started Guide does not
mention this singular behavior, and instead lists JBoss Central along with views, which is
not correct.
JBoss Central is similar to Welcome view, however the last one is consistently implemented
as a view part. I think it would be better for JBoss Central to follow the same pattern.
JBoss Perspective does not include JBoss Central

Key: JBIDE-11440
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-11440
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: common/jst/core
Affects Versions: 3.3.0.Beta2
Reporter: Martin Malina
Assignee: Alexey Kazakov
Fix For: 3.3.0.Beta3
According to JBDS 5 PRD, the JBoss Perspective should include JBoss Central. But it does
not.
JBoss Central is opened automatically at every start of JBT/JBDS so it is not such a big
issue.
It is also documented here:
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/nightly-docs/en/GettingStartedGuide/...
{quote}
The JBoss perspective views include: Project Explorer, JBoss Central, Outline, Palette,
Properties and Servers.
{quote}
So we either need to make sure JBoss Central is opened when you switch to JBoss
Perspective or if we think this is not required it needs to be removed from the
documentation.
