Brian Fitzpatrick commented on JBIDE-6253:

Ok, I have delivered the first cut of the tester to org.jboss.tools.ws.ui. When it shows
up in the next good JBoss 3.2.next build, you should have a new view menu available - in
the JBoss Tools Web Services category you should find "Web Service Tester".
It's a very vertical view, so you'll probably have to move things around to play
with it. And I'm open to suggestions on how to reduce the "verticality" of
it - whether we move it into an "Editor"-type window or leave it as a view
doesn't matter to me.
It's definitely not bullet-proof, but please note things as you find them.
However...
1) I added an Edit button as well as a new "Request Header" tab that is
available for JAX-RS.
2) I added a new "Results Header" tab down below that shows what comes back from
the URL connection as well.
I'll see what I can do about adding some kind of UDDI search capability that queries
the JBoss Runtime for its UDDI repo to help the user, but I think this is a useful start
to a tool anyway. :)
Need a web service tester (JAX-WS and JAX-RS) in the tooling

Affects Versions: 3.2.next
Reporter: Brian Fitzpatrick
Assignee: Brian Fitzpatrick
Fix For: 3.2.next

Original Estimate: 0 minutes
Remaining Estimate: 0 minutes
Though there are testing facilities for web services available in Eclipse, such as the
Web Services Explorer (doesn't support JAX-RS) and soapUI (3rd party tool), there has
been a call for some rudimentary testing facilities within our tooling as well.
This tooling should:
* Test invoking a JAX-WS service with an incoming SOAP document and show the results
* Test invoking a JAX-RS service (GET or POST) and show the results
