James Cobb commented on JBDS-3936:

There are two issues here....
1) RH brand says products can't have logos and must use the logotypes. This system is
broken when it comes to products like JBDS and Devstudio that NEEDS a logo or Icon to use
to identify themselves on desktops and IDEs. Brand hasn't dedicated the time to fix
this issue so I understand the frustration and desire to go off the farm and create one.
The solution you're team chose not only breaks this rule but leads to issue #2.
2) The icon you use is for the Global RHD Program. Using it associated with a single
product dilutes the overall brand for RHD and creates confusion with the users. Think
about the "JBoss" issue and the confusion around product, projects, the AS and
others. No one is clear about this. By using the icon, your team is setting us up for this
problem for RHD.
If you're going to go rogue and create an Icon for a product, don't compound it by
messing up and making things harder for other teams.
