The current JBoss icon does not seem to do anything for me at this moment, but one of the
menu options can be "JBoss Central"

JBoss Central should have multiple 'launch' mechanisms:
1) Default on Startup
2) Default as part of the JBoss Perspective
3) Help - JBoss Central
4) JBoss Toolbar Icon (see screenshot)- that icon is always visible and the most likely
place for someone to go whenever JBoss Central gets "lost"
also, the "Search the Community" field currently takes up too much real-estate,
can it be pulled on to the same line as "JBoss Central"
