The Seam Validator reports an error if the value attribute is not specified for an @DataModelSelection. Once the value attribute is provided, the validation passes. For example, the following is reported as invalid: @DataModel private List<Booking> bookings; @DataModelSelection private Booking booking; while the following is valid: @DataModel private List<Booking> bookings; @DataModelSelection(value="bookings") private Booking booking; If only one @DataModel is specified in a component, it is not necessary to specify a value for @DataModelSelection.
