Rob Stryker commented on JBIDE-21716:
-------------------------------------
It seems terribly insecure to me to be passing a password in via an environment variable,
and I think it's better to let the user type the password again. It's two
different programs, and as long as the username is properly moved over, I think it's
perfectly reasonable that the user type the password a second time. I agree that if it can
be done in a secure manner, passing the password as well is a reasonable solution... but
if there's no reasonably secure solution, I think it's best to let the user type
the password again.
Don't re-prompt for password

Key: JBIDE-21716
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-21716
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: cdk
Reporter: Pete Muir
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 4.3.1.CR1, 4.4.0.Alpha1
Having installed JBDS and CDK from the installer, and entered your password there, you
get re-prompted for your password for the customer portal. This is a poor user experience.
