what is the cause of the problems - what have broken since the same app that runs on EAP
5.1 can't run on EAP 5.1.1 and vice versa ?
btw. we try and make examples work on both community and product since product is just
about API stability not about new features so should be doable to have it running on both
unless something weird changed - and then we'll need to know the details to take a
decision from time to time what we do (i.e. create 2 examples one for JBT the other for
JBDS)

The Seam 2.2 DVD Store example is not working with EAP 5.1.1 ER1. It fails to deploy.
We had a similar problem in EAP 5.1 and it was resolved by updating the project-examples
to use a newer version of the example. See JBIDE-6696.
