There exist an dialog which will remind user about it(see JBIDE-5701) #2 may be couple words about maven projects, early as I understand was possible use it's project using mvn eclipse:eclipse and without m2eclipse. Now better to use m2eclipse. #3 early was required libstdc++ for correct work VPE.
