Both project examples, "Seam DVD Store Example - EAR" and "Seam DVD Store Example - EAR(including a test project)" work as expected. What version of Seam are you using? Could you install JBoss AS 4.2.3 from scratch and try to reproduce the issue. Since you are getting the error when running the "delete from ORDERLINES" statement, it is possible that you have an incompatible hsqldb.jar on your server.
