Lukas Jungmann commented on JBIDE-6106:
---------------------------------------
re Brian:
1) I think it's kind of hidden and also duplicating Create a sample web service wizard
- so perhaps the basic question is: are we going to have both wizards?
2) ok; I only don't think that allowing users to have web service and its client in
one/same project is generally good idea
3) thanks
re Libor:
1) +1
2) I think we should require at least setting up valid JBossWS Runtime at least in order
to allow users to easily use JBossWS specific features from within the IDE in non-web
projects (... but being able to use JDK 6+ provided WS support would nice addon)
few more general comments:
4) I think it would be better to not mix JAX-WS and JAX-RS stuff in the wizard and have
two different wizards - one for each technology
5) just thinking loud - what if "Service configuration" part would be moved to
some later step in the wizards? It's something I'll set up for the first service
in a given project (not sure about workspace) and then reuse the same settings for other
services
comments to from WSDL/top-down scenario:
6) Service WSDL in Service implementation part is a link which 'on click' opens a
dialog - I think having a text box + browse button (to open the dialog) would be better,
so the user can type URL/path directly in a wizard without the need of opening additional
dialog
Rewrite Web Service wizard independent on WTP

Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Webservices
Reporter: Libor Zoubek
Assignee: Brian Fitzpatrick
Fix For: 3.2.next
Attachments: NewJBWSWizard_041510.jpg, UseCase 4 - JAX-WS bottom up sample.pdf,
UseCase1 - WSDL top down.pdf, UseCase2 - JAX-WS bottom up.pdf, UseCase3 - JAX-WS bottom up

I think wizards for creating web services provided by WTP are bad solution and our way of
extending them brings lots of problems we have to deal with. I suggest to write new
wizards for creating web service. As it happened in the case of 'Create a Sample Web
Service' which is fully under our control and is pretty simple and works well. New
wizards can of course reuse code from 'Create a Sample Web Service' since there
are many same or similar steps.
