While I *could* make the change you request, I feel users modifying the xml do not wish to have broken changes deregister the project, and then re-register it again on another change. The code would be a bit complex, but it also contributes nothing to the user. In this way, if a user messes up directly modifying the xml, they can still modify the project through the view and the model to fix whatever they broke. Again, the suggested change might *seem* proper, but really, it adds nothing to the user and only hurts usability.
