If <project_name>-ear is created before <project_name>-ejb, compile errors won't exist. I suppose that the order of creating EAR projects is random. I propose the following: saving the "Build Automatically" preference at the beginning of the finish method of the Seam wizard , disabling this preference and restoring it at the end of the finish method.
